
Day 1: Arrive in Kefalonia. A short drive across the island with its vast variety of scenery takes us to the Erisos area in the North. Assemble bikes, and then a short spin to the beautiful cove at Acqua Alaties to loosen the legs. We pass through Fiscardo with its traditional buildings and bustling water front. ( 24km, 400m ascent )
Day 2: We cycling down the coast, then through the meadows to Agia Effimia. We pass the famous venetian fort at Assos. The road back hugs the coast in spectacular fashion, with a steep climb to Karia to round off the day. ( 84km, 1280m ascent )
Day 3: We go to Argostolli, across the famous Drapano bridge and see the loggerhead turtles in the bay. A short ferry crossing takes us to the beautiful town of Lixouri for lunch. On the way back we take in 2 beautiful isolated beaches, with spectacular views all the way.

Day 4: The road skirts the coast to Sami, with Ionian Sea in constant company. Then it's a short climb to a medieval bell tower with panoramic views. After lunch we climb up above Murtos beach and descend through the lush woodland back to Fiscardo.

Day 5: We take a boat over to Ithica, climb up to Stavros, and then the coast road to the capital Vathi. The views are breath-taking as usual. After lunch we drop down to Kioni , a tiny village nestling in the most beautiful steep sided cove. ( 68km,1590m ascent )
Day 6: Home !

Day 2: We cycle to Agia Effimia, and through the vineyards of the Omala Valley. Then on to the Venetian fort at Kastro with it's panoramic views. The road back hugs the coast in spectacular fashion, with a steep climb to Karia to round off the day. ( 130km, 2700m ascent )
Day 3: We head to the Paliki peninsula and the Kipouri Monastery with sheer 100m cliffs down to the sea. Then to Lixouri for lunch by the sea. The route back takes in one of the island toughest climbs. Spectacular views all the way. ( 130km, 2350m ascent )
Day 4: The road skirts the coast to Sami, with Ionian Sea in constant view. Then it's the climb up to Mt Enos. With almost the same distance and elevation as Mt Ventoux it will be a challenge. The forest at the top is dark and dramatic, but then it’s down hill all the way home .( 120km, 2850m ascent )
Day 5: We circumnavigate the island, with sea views all the way. The descent into Poros for lunch cuts through a dramatic gorge with steep cliffs. The route back passes through classic Captain Corelli country. ( 145km, 2450m ascent )
Day 6 : Home!
